Can someone please help me get Conifer Rhizome running locally?

Just found out it’s apparently possible to run https://conifer.rhizome.org locally. It says it here GitHub - Rhizome-Conifer/conifer: Collect and revisit web pages. I assume this means if there are any problems with the online server, which occasionally happens like right now, the offline local server will work?

I’m on Windows 10, and I am somewhat familiar with command line but I can’t figure out how to get it running locally. Can someone please explain what to do in simple layman’s terms for me? So far I have cloned and unzipped the repository but not sure what to do from here.

Well, since writing the initial post, I seemed to have got it running somewhat. But when I open http://localhost:8089/ it says The site can’t be reached, local host refused to connect. and when I look at the logs, I see this: /docker-entrypoint.sh: 37: exec: ulimit: not found

Again, I’m on Windows 10. Not sure what to do to fix the issue.

Hi, Conifer is supported by Rhizome. You can reach them at support@conifer.rhizome.org

If you are looking for a tool to record pages locally, we recommend the ArchiveWeb.page Desktop App downloads here or browser extension at https://archiveweb.page, which provides similar functionality that can run on your desktop or directly in your browser.
