We are considering applying different quality levels - which is then resulting in different amounts of effort for crawling and quality control - for archiving different websites.
So we think that for a certain type of web sites we are happy with archiving the textual contents more or less completely (leaving aside video and interactive content), whereas for other web sites we want to archive them including all content, video, interactive elements, etc.
In this way we hope to use our limited resources in a deliberate way.
We wonder a) if there are any institutions that follow these or similar ideas, or
b) if there are articles describing such approaches.
We would like to follow a good practice here and wonder what’s there already…
And c) What’s your opinion? Is this a path to follow?
