Seeking Advice on Best Practices for Web Archiving

Hey everyone,

I hope you are all doing well. I’m diving into web archiving and am looking for some advice on best practices. Specifically, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the following:

  1. Tools and Techniques: What tools or techniques do you find most effective for archiving web content? Are there any hidden gems or under-the-radar tools that you swear by?
  2. Managing Large Archives: How do you handle and organize large archives? Any tips on managing and navigating through massive amounts of data?
  3. Preserving Dynamic Content: What’s your approach to archiving dynamic content that changes frequently? Any strategies for ensuring that these snapshots remain useful over time?
  4. Dealing with Obsolescence: How do you deal with the issue of obsolete formats or technologies in your archived data? Any advice on future-proofing your archives?

When I was searching about this I came across these resources/articles Webrecorder | Improving browser-based web archiving with standards and design research Artificial Intelligence vs Cyber Security, however, but I would like to get some advice in detail from community members.

I’d really appreciate any insights or experiences you can share. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Dear jarethdf
