A key requirement for any kind of decentralization will be a way to verify the authenticity of decentralized web archives.
I’ve been discussing with Jack Cushman at Perma.cc/Harvard LIL on how this could be approached.
Here’s a draft proposal of signing WARC files (and WACZ files) and using letsencrypt SSL certs for identity verification.
