I tried to understand the commit messages, but I’m still unsure how the old “Crawler Instances” limit translates into the new “Browser Windows”.
We tried to be nice with “Crawler Instances=1”, which seems to be equivalent to the new minimum of “Browser Windows=4”. Is that true?

Yes, that is correct. On the back end the amount of browser windows in a “crawler instance” is a configurable value. Based on our infrastructure we’ve settled on 4 per instance, but these details aren’t really valuable for the end user. Now the setting is labeled “browser windows” to better reflect what will happen when each value is selected.
All configs will behave as they did before the name change.
For anyone self-hosting, you can set the number of browser windows per crawler instance with the setting crawler_browser_instances in the Helm chart (see our Self-Hosting deployment docs for more information on deployments and the Helm chart).
