I attempted to upload a WACZ file generated using Browsertrix to my Chrome Archive Webpage, encountering an unexpected loading error. The error message displayed was: “TypeError: this.store.loadWACZFiles is not a function.”
Interestingly, I was able to successfully upload the same file to my desktop Replay Webpage.
I tried uploading a different file, and the same error persisted in Archive Webpage. Also success in Replay Webpage. Could you please provide some insights into how I can resolve this issue?
This is a known issue unfortunately. Sorry you have run into this one.
To ensure WACZ files import properly into ArchiveWeb.page, use download the individual files from within the archived item from the WACZ Files tab. Importantly, do not download them all as a multi-WACZ if you need to open them in ArchiveWeb.page. This will hopefully be fixed in a future ArchiveWeb.page release, though I don’t have a timeline for resolving it.
Thanks, Hank. Only one WACZ file appears in the “WACZ Files” tab for the 39 URLs I archived. The “Download as Multi-WACZ” button doesn’t offer options to download individual files. Did I miss something? I need to use ArchiveWeb.page to check each file and recapture if needed.
If you click the single WACZ file it will download it as a normal WACZ. If you click the multi-WACZ button it will download that single WACZ file but packaged as if it had multiple.
Workflow wise, I might recommend analyzing if everything is captured as you want - either through QA or by manually looking at things within the built-in ReplayWeb.page embed, archiving what isn’t with ArchiveWeb.page locally, uploading that file to Browsertrix and combining it within a collection!
